To become a world-leading Advanced Manufacturing Technician, join Apex.

Additive Manufacturing is transforming industry, business and life around the world - redefining the possible for a vast array of sectors across the globe.

Apex Additive Technologies is at the forefront of this industry: a One-Stop shop for the advanced manufacturing of metallic components, providing an unparalleled access to leading-edge know-how and cutting-edge technologies - enabling OEMs of all sizes and sectors to create bespoke parts with complex geometries, improved mechanical properties at lower costs and reduced lead times with minimal waste.

What does this mean for you as an Advanced Manufacturing Technician? Enhancing your current precision engineering experience - as part of a small, expert team delivering pioneering services across the full value chain, from design and simulation to manufacture, embracing the full potential of multiple Laser Powder Bed Fusion systems that power metal 3D-printing.

Your valued role In our story

Join us at our state-of-the-art facility in Ebbw Vale and you’ll be at the heart of what we do, operating our laser powder bed fusion systems, vacuum heat treatment furnaces and finishing processes - as well as exploring “what’s possible?” in our fully equipped materials characterisation and development lab - enjoying all the training and support you need to succeed, in an enterprise driven by class-leading technologies and fuelled by an unrivalled passion for engineering excellence.

Specifically, that will mean playing a key part in hands-on day-to-day manufacturing, using our LPBF systems within an ISO13485/AS9100 regulated environment - ensuring that production work is carried out on time and according to specifications, as a valued member of a supportive team that will invest in your success, in a role that will see you:

●     Operating and maintaining additive manufacturing and post-processing equipment

●     Managing the inventory of raw materials and consumables

●     Communicating effectively with team members to maximise production efficiency and drive for continuous improvement

●     Deliver in full compliance with our QMS and internal procedures, in line with ISO13485/AS9100

●     Work within and maintain good health and safety practices, at all times.

 What you’ll need:

Right now, you have experience of working in a precision engineering environment, a high level of attention to detail, a strong team ethic - and (very importantly), a positive hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn new skills (and work flexible hours or morning/afternoon shifts if needed).

You’re also organised and self-motivated, proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), able to work independently - and enjoy collaborating as part of a diverse, driven, hardworking and fast-moving team that’s very competitive as well as able to make operating in a heavily regulated environment fun!

Beyond those essential qualities, it would also be desirable but not essential if you have experience of operating CNC machine tools or multi laser metal additive manufacturing equipment - while any exposure to an ISO13485/AS9100 regulated environment would also be helpful.
